Customer Service

Opening Hours
We are open on Wednesday evening and Thursday, Friday & Saturday at lunchtime and evening. (+ Weds lunchtimes from Jan 2026)
Lunch reservations are 12:00pm - 1:30pm and dinner reservations, 6:30pm - 8:30pm.
To ensure we have adequate time to prepare the restaurant for our evening guests we respectfully ask that all lunchtime guests vacate the restaurant by 4:30pm.

Summer Holiday
Tom and our team will be taking a break to recharge between 24th August - 9th September. Our last service will be on Saturday 23rd August and our first service back will be Wednesday 10th September.
We offer our signature 7-course tasting menu only across both lunch and dinner services.
Our classic tasting menu is currently priced £118* at lunch and £125* at dinner per person.
Vegetarian and pescatarian menus are priced at slightly less.
Our Kitchen Table experience is £120* per person for lunchtime and £130* per person for dinner.

We also offer 2 different wine pairings to compliment our tasting menu, our Discovery pairing is £80 per person and Classic pairing is £125 per person.

We are happy to accommodate a number of food allergies and intolerances and we can also arrange vegetarian and pescatarian menus.
So we can arrange everything for your arrival, please let us know of any dietary requirements at the time of booking or drop us an email at least 48 hours before your reservation.
Unfortunately, we may not be able to accommodate requests made on the day of your visit.
Please note:We cannot accommodate guests who follow a vegan diet or those with dairy, soya or egg allergies.
We would like to highlight that although we follow best practice at all times, all the dishes we serve are produced in an environment where allergens are also prepared and cooked, meaning we are unable to guarantee that the environment will be completely allergen free.
Your reservation can be rescheduled up to 3 days before the time of the reservation. You can also transfer your reservation to another person.
To amend the date or transfer your booking to another person, you can do this by following the "manage your reservation" link on your booking confirmation email or logging into your Tock→ account.
If you need to cancel your booking, please email us on hello@upstairs.restaurant→ with your booking details.
If you cancel your booking more than 3 days prior to your reservation date, your deposit will be refunded (minus a 75p admin fee per person).
If you cancel or make amendments to the number of diners within the 3 days before your reservation date please note you will forfeit your deposit paid.
A £35 deposit per person is required to secure all bookings. Payment will be taken at the time of booking and will be deducted off of your final bill.
We operate a three day cancellation policy. Your deposit will only be retained in the event of a cancellation or drop in numbers received within three days of the reservation date or if you fail to show to your booking.
For any cancellations made prior to the three days before your reservation, your full deposit amount will be refunded minus an admin fee of 75p per person.

Due to the intimate size of our restaurant, we unfortunately do not have a lounge area available for guests to relax in before being seated at your table.
To help us provide the best possible experience and ensure a smooth service for you and all our guests, we kindly ask that you do not arrive early and please only arrive at the time of your booking.

Please note: if you’re booked in for our final sitting (13:30 or 20:30) and arrive more than 60 minutes late, a shorter menu will be offered.
To fully enjoy your experience with us we would recommend to allow approx 3 hours for your visit.
Our suggested dress code is smart casual but we want you to feel completely comfortable during your visit. Jeans and a t-shirt are perfectly welcome, as is something more formal if that's your preference!
It was always our wish to install a lift that would provide a step-free entrance and wheelchair access to our first floor restaurant. However, due to the age of the property and its location between two listed buildings, we were unfortunately not granted the planning permission to install a lift. Regrettably, access is via our staircase entrance only.
We are able to print our menus in larger fonts if required. If you have any queries or requests about accessibility, please get in touch with us hello@upstairs.restaurant.
Due to the intimate size of our restaurant, we do not have a lounge or bar area available for guests to wait or relax in before or after their reservation.
There are however some fantastic bars located around our city in Lichfield which we'd highly encourage you to visit!
Please note that due to our city centre location, we do not have on-site parking. You will need to park at one of the nearby public car parks. There are various paid parking options around the city, but here are a few we recommend:

Train
Lichfield City Station is located in the heart of the city and is less than 10 minutes walk to our restaurant.
Lichfield Trent Valley Station is located 1.3 miles away, so will require a 5 minute taxi ride or is approx 30 minute walk.
Bus
Lichfield bus station is a short 5 minute walk to our restaurant.
There is a discretionary 5% service charge added to all final bills.
The whole restaurant can be hired on an exclusive basis for a maximum of 40 seated guests. If you would like to speak to us regarding any exclusive group information, please email: info@upstairs.restaurant
All gift vouchers are valid for 24 months from the purchase date and can be purchased online here.
Gift vouchers are not available to purchase from the restaurant as all of our vouchers are processed and sent via our online third-party partner - Vouchable.
If you have one of our gift vouchers to redeem, please quote your voucher number at the time of booking so we can store it against your reservation.
If your voucher is due to expire and you cannot find a reservation, please contact us on email.
If using a voucher, any additional expenditure on your bill above the value of your voucher must be paid in full at the end of your meal. If there is a remaining balance available at the end of your visit this can be issued as a new voucher but the same expiry date will be applied.
We welcome food lovers of all ages. We just kindly ask that any children dining with us do so from our tasting menu at full price.
Please note however that due to the intimate nature of the restaurant, we cannot accommodate babies or toddlers.
